Cody Austin Garrison-Maddux, 21, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He was raised in Rockford, IL by his parents Naomi (Turner) Maddux and James Maddux. Cody lived in Rockford his entire life. Most recently Cody worked as a cook for Culver’s in Winnebago. He was also a skilled roofer/contractor recently working for Cronin Roofing with lifelong family friends. Cody enjoyed playing his video games, drawing, and hanging with his brothers and cousins. He also enjoyed working in the garage with his dad on small engines, cars, woodworking, etc. He made a point to learn everything he could from his dad. Cody had a calm, quiet strength and an extremely magnetic personality that drew people to him. He was a kind, compassionate person that was always willing to help anyone in need. And Cody is still helping others in his death as his organs are being donated to others. Cody is survived by his parents, James and Naomi Maddux; biological father, Chris Garrison; siblings, James Jr., Ashley, and Blake; nephews Curtis and Julian; niece Lorali, and soon to be born Tadrick; maternal and paternal grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friend Jadie. Predeceased by his great grandfather, Fred Largo; special grandmother, Frankie Roll; Uncle Eddie, and many other special people. A visitation for Cody will be held at Firstborn Ministries, 8213 North Alpine Road, Loves Park, IL, 61115 at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 16, 2021 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 A.M.
