Clarence Beck

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION DUE TO POSSIBLE INCLEMENT WEATHER: Clarence M. Beck, 86, of Rockford, went to his heavenly home on December 16, 2022, at home with family by his side. Born December 11, 1936, in Rockford; the son of Clarence I. and Lillian E. (Dobson) Beck. Clarence served in the Army National Guard after graduating from high school. On September 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, Sandra K. Eatmon. He was an engineer at Ingersoll for many years. As a member of Central Christian Church, he was a past elder and he volunteered and mentored children at Kid’s Hope. Clarence and Sandra also mentored young couples in marriage classes. He was very active outside, whether it was fishing, hiking, canoeing, etc. In their younger years Clarence and Sandra were members of an archery club. He also worked diligently at woodworking and growing vegetables. He loved taking trips with his children and grandchildren and having lively games of ping pong at family gatherings. As with his wife Sandra, family was always the most important thing. Survivors include his children Julie (Mark) Ross, Mary (James) Heckelsmiller, Leslie (Diane) Beck, Brian (Christine) Beck; grandchildren Jennifer Kimberly, Jeffrey (Alexis) Kimberly, Janell Reyes, Jarrett (Casey) Kimberly, and Joel (Jessica) Kimberly, Carmela Cruz, Joseph Morris, Timothy Morris, Jr., and William Morris, Noah (Morgan) Beck, Abigail (Michael) Lafferty, Elijah and Nathan Beck, Elizabeth, Isabelle, and Katelyn Beck; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Rogene Martini; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife Sandra; and sister Joanne Olrick. A memorial service will be 3 pm, Friday, December 30, 2022, in Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Rd., Rockford, IL 61107, with Rev. Sherm Nichols officiating.
