Christine A. Lewis, 44, of Loves Park, IL passed away on September 29, 2025 , after a courageous battle with cancer once again and with her family by her side . She was born on October 7, 1980, the daughter of Jackie W. Grable and Deborah L. Raethz .

Christine graduated from Harlem High School in 1999, where she shined as an athlete in bowling and was honored as Athlete of the Week. She later dedicated her career to caring for others as a CNA in the Alzheimer's ward at River Bluff Nursing Home.

A stubborn redhead with a strong will, Christine showed remarkable strength, having battled cancer since the age of five. She cherished time spent bowling with her parents, competing in various leagues and tournaments, and proudly passed down her love of sports to her sons as a devoted Cubs and Vikings fan.

Christine was happiest at home, enjoying her quiet time, her pets, and the closeness of family. Above all, she was a loving and devoted single mother to her three amazing boys, whom she raised with fierce love. Her heart and soul were especially connected to her significant other Arik Christensen . Christine was also the "exact image" of her beloved maternal grandmother, with whom she shared a deep bond. To her nieces and nephews, she will always be remembered as "Aunt Teeny."

Christine's legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Christine is survived by Arik Christensen; her three children Tyler (Caitlyn Thelen ) Lewis, Alexander Lewis, and Aaron "AJ" Lewis; Arik's children Kaden Christensen, Madison Christensen, and Tyler Penewel l ; her mom Debbie Raeth z , stepdad Dennis Raeth z , dad Jack Grable and her stepmom Sheila Grable; grandchildren, Avery Lewis, Eastyn Lewis, RaeLyn n Lewis; siblings Tracey (David) Johnson, Jason (Je n ny) Grable, Holly (Myk) Escalante, Jessica (Greg) Chavera, Sarah (Andrew) Shaben; She had a special bond with nephews Zach McCauley and Justin McCauley and neices Brianna Martin and Emma Grable, other special neices and nephews include Alyssa White, Savanna Bogenrief, Logan Lee, Eli Chavera, Lei Chavera, and Alivia Shaben along with a great neices and several nephews ; her pets Jasmine and Daisy; the family would like to give a special thanks to the amazing staff of Carbone Cancer Center both in Madison, WI, and Rockford, IL . Along with the staff of the CCU at UW for their kindness and support during this difficult time ; and to Unity Hospice. Christine is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Ethel and George Danger; her uncle Larry Paris; and her great-grandma Hazel "Granny" Dodson and Aunt Shirley Goodman.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Harlem Community Center, 900 Roosevelt Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115, and al so fr om 2:30 to 5:30 at B&B Park Bowl, 5626 N. 2nd St. Loves Park, IL 61111 where family and friends are invited to bowl in ho nor of Christine or just visit.
