Charlotte Degarmo

September 20, 1940 — April 9, 2024

Charlotte J. DeGarmo, 83, of Rockford, passed away in her home on April 9, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1940, in Lemmon, South Dakota, the daughter of Jonathan and Frances (Hardesty) Smith. She married Larry DeGarmo on September 20, 1958. He passed away on January 15, 2022. Charlotte and Larry enjoyed traveling in their younger years and loved to go boating. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. Charlotte was an entertainer and had a zeal for life. She was always up for a good time. Charlotte had been a belly dancer and loved to collect jewelry to make her own costumes.

Survivors include her children Terri (Randy) Foltz, Steve DeGarmo, and David (Dawn) DeGarmo; grandchildren Brian (Carrie) DeGarmo, Matt (Brandy) Foltz, Mikey Foltz, Chenelle (Matt) Benton, Garrett (Nicole) Elliott, Allen (Morgan) DeGarmo, and Damon (Brittany) DeGarmo; many great-grandchildren; siblings Delmar (Elaine) Smith, Mardel Brenbarker, and Lowell (Alan) Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Larry; daughter Pam DeGarmo; brother Larry John Smith; and grandson Jacob DeGarmo.
