Charles Alvah "Charlie" Anderson Jr, passed away Friday, March 14th, 2025 in Rochelle Illinois. Born February 22nd, 1962, in Aurora Illinois, Charlie lived a life filled with passion for exploration, communication, and community service.
Charlie had a deep appreciation for the world around him. He was an avid ham radio operator, connecting with people near and far through the airwaves. His enthusiasm for trains and air plains reflected his lifelong fascination with movement and mechanics. A dedicated volunteer for the Autumn on Parade for many years, Charlie gave his generosity to support the event and its community spirit.
Beyond his hobbies, Charlie found joy in camping and traveling, embracing the beauty of nature and new experiences. He took great pride in his Native American heritage, carrying that identity with honor throughout his life.
Charlie is survived by his siblings Diane Madej, Joyce Swanson, and Tim Anderson; his children Josh Anderson, Adam Anderson, Charles Anderson III, Kristen Anderson, and Nathan Anderson; step son Quintin Ludewig; as well as eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Harriet Erhman and Charles L Anderson Sr.
Charlie's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy of curiosity, service, and adventure continue to inspire others.
His children plan to hold a celebration of life later in the year, with a date yet to be determined, to honor the memory of Charlie.
