Charlene Rose DeMolli of Roscoe, Illinois, died on September 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 12, 1955, in Rockford Illinois, the daughter of Charles T. DeMolli and Beatrice Rose (Scandroli) DeMolli. Char graduated from Boylan High School and then started a 49-year career in healthcare at Rockford Memorial Hospital, now Javon Bea Hospital. After 20 years as a unit clerk in the emergency room her treasured assignment was as administrative assistant to the late Dr. Arthur Rettig until his retirement, ending her career in the Mercyhealth Women's Center–Rockford. She was recognized as the 2015 Employee of the Year having never missed a day of work for 40 years, a record which she maintained for the 48 years prior to her diagnosis with cancer. She is survived by sisters, Mary Margaret (Terry) Anderson, Katherine Tway, Linda Johnson, Donna Vuttera, and Patricia Bailey, significant other, Larry Sreenan, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, second mother, JoAnn (Scida) DeMolli and her brothers-in-law, Ronald Johnson, and Richard Vuttera. Thank you to all the Oncology Staff at Javon Bea Hospital on Rockton Avenue for the wonderful compassionate care which she received as she dealt with the challenges of chemotherapy. In addition, the family wants to thank the entire medical and palliative care teams at Javon Bea Hospital on Riverside and the Mercyhealth Hospice Illinois for their compassionate assistance and support during the last days of her life.
