Carolyn Politic

Carolyn (Jurgens) Politic passed Friday October 15, 2021, in her home at Independence Village. Born Aug. 23, 1951, to John and Ruth Jurgens. She married Dennis Politic on April 27, 1991, at Grace United Methodist Church of Rockford, IL. Together they made several trips to Disney World, as well as trips to Door County, New Mexico, and out East. She worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital for a total of 47 years. Carolyn worked as a Pharmacy Tech for the first 21 years, then in Health Information Services until she retired. As well as being a dedicated employee she was loved and respected by her coworkers, being referred to as “A Real Peach”. Carolyn was a loving wife to Dennis and faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was involved in making church breakfasts and was famous for her Swedish meatballs, breakfast casserole and banana bread. She is survived by Dennis Politic, husband of 30 years. Sibling Bruce (Karen) Jurgens; Linda (Mike) Strang and Randy (Ann) Jurgens; Nieces and Nephews, Thyra (Ryan) Kiehl, and Lilly, Brian Jurgens, Andrew, Elizabeth and Johnathan Jurgens. Preceded in death by parents John & Ruth Jurgens; Sisters, Grace Jurgens and Joyce Jurgens; Lifelong friend Debbie (Schafman) Bauer. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm at 3555 McFarland Road, Rockford, IL. The service will be live streaming on the church website,
