Caroline R Witt

Caroline “Carol” Rose Witt (nee Fuscone) November 3, 1936-April 22, 2026, Age 89, of Rockford and Itasca, IL, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford after a brief illness.

Carol was happiest when surrounded by her seven children and their families, which included twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Carol leaves behind her children George Jr. (Cynthia), Diane (Richard) Stumpf, Ronald (Roberta), Denise Witt, Dawn Witt (James Ladika), Carol Witt and Valarie (Anthony) Gattone. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Foley.
In addition to her parents Angelo and Carmela Fuscone, Carol was preceded in death by three of her siblings and a granddaughter; Rebecca Bordenaro. Her devoted husband of over 50 years, George Witt Sr. sadly passed away in 2010 and remains dearly missed. Our hope is that they are now reunited at last.

Carol spent most of her life as a homemaker and mom. Carol's dinner table was seemingly endless, and all were welcome. Her "love language" was food, and the more who showed up to eat, the better. These celebrations were loud, chaotic, and full of laughter. Her family will miss both the good food and the good times with mom.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Carol's honor on May 9th from 4 - 6pm at the Itasca Park District in the Iris Room, 350 E. Irving Park Rd., Itasca, IL 60143. All of her friends, family, and any who wishes to honor her memory are welcome.
