Carol Marie (Lucht) Smith, 61, of Rockford, IL, passed away on September 18, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1963, the daughter of William Franklin and Lorene Olene (Ahrndt) Lucht. Carol graduated from Hartington High School in 1982. She married Mark Smith on May 29, 1982.
She loved her children above everything else. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, caring heart, and the many ways she made life brighter for those around her.
Carol is survived by her sons Adam Smith and Jacob Smith of Rockford, IL; brother Daniel (Judy) Lucht of Yankton, SD; sister Marcy Lucht of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Megan Smith, her son Erik Smith, brothers David Lucht and Steve Lucht.
