Carlene Ann Masters

Carlene Ann Masters, 71, of Dixon, IL, passed away on March 17, 2026, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born on April 18, 1954, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of William and Joyce (Madden) Cover. Carlene married Don Masters on April 22, 1972.

Carlene worked for Borg Warner for 10 years but spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Baptist church. Carlene enjoyed music and especially liked to listen to her husband’s bands over the years. She was a homebody but was a member of a bowling league at Plum Hollow in Dixon. Carlene was active on Facebook and enjoyed playing games. She was also a wonderful cook, and no one could cook better chicken than Carlene. When not spending time at home she also liked to travel and visit her family. She never met a stranger because she could start a conversation with just about anyone.

Survivors include her beloved husband Don; brother Bill (April) Cover; sister Pam Marks; several nieces, nephew, cousins, and several other family members; her in-laws Mike (Sally) Masters, Linda (Randy) Wittenauer, Gary (Shelly) Masters, Cheryl Steele, Marty (Sarah) Masters; Jim (Teri) Dawkins; Gene (Angie) Dawkins; and William (Angie) Dawkins. She is predeceased by her parents and 2 sons Donnie Masters, Jr., and Dustin Michael Masters.
