Brian Getter

October 7, 1976 — July 26, 2025

Brian Christopher Getter "Odee", 48, of Pecatonica, died unexpectedly on July 26, 2025. He was a 5-year survivor of a liver and kidney transplant. He was born on October 7, 1976, in Rockford; the son of Den and Sandi (Frost) Getter. Brian grew up in South Beloit and graduated from South Beloit High School in 1995. He went on to graduate from Universal Technical Institute specializing in heating and air. He worked as a repair technician for Sears for many years, and more recently working for Top Shot C.K.R. Inc. Brian was very talented and could fix anything. He loved hunting and fishing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to crack inappropriate jokes. He could always manage to put a smile on anyone's face. Everyone loved him. The most important part of Brian's life was raising his two girls, Brianna Christine and Mylie Rae. He was the best "girl dad" and was very proud of the young ladies they have become. He leaves a big hole in our family, and he will be missed.

Survivors include his daughters Bri (Alex Grimmett) Getter and Mylie Getter; fiancé Nikki Thompson; parents Den and Sandi Getter; sisters Angie (Rob) Baumgartner, Mindy Getter, and Kristen (Doug Cameron) Getter; nieces Danielle Brown and Autumn Cameron; nephews Alex (Lauryn) Baumgartner, Nicholas Getter, and Trent Getter; 3 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 pm, Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the American Legion, 403 Main St. Pecatonica, IL 61063. Memorials may be made to Brianna or Mylie Getter.
