Brett M Bothwell

Brett Michael Bothwell, 38, of Machesney Park, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2026. He was born March 8, 1988, in Sterling, IL, the son of Ronald and Lorrie (Duncan) Bothwell.

Brett attended Harlem High School and then went to Gateway in Lake Villa where he graduated at the age of 16. He went on to graduate from Rockford Career College with a degree in welding and worked as a welder. Brett enjoyed gaming and playing Frisbee golf in his free time.

Survivors include his parents Ronald and Lorrie Bothwell; sisters Carla Duncan and Briana Bothwell; nieces CJ (Tre)Gordan, Tiana Duncan, and Nadia Garrett; and nephew Brandon McMaster. He is predeceased by his sister Carol Stafford; niece Lyric McMaster; maternal grandmother Patricia (Norman) Poston; maternal grandfather Howard Duncan; and paternal grandparents Kenneth and Arlene Bothwell.
