Brent William Price, 22, of Rockford passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2024. Born February 10, 2002, in Rockford; the son of Junior Price and Catherine Ellsworth. He graduated from Belvidere high school in 2020. Brent played baseball for most of his school years. He loved playing and always had a great attitude about the game, even when they were losing. Brent was smart, he was kind, and caring. He was goofy and silly and would make you laugh. He created his own version of Ghost in the Graveyard, so kids of all ages could play. He was popular with the kids, they loved his energy, they loved him. He was a hard worker at his various jobs. His employers just loved him and were always trying to help him advance in his career. He loved animals and had a special bond with the many pets he grew up with. Brent attended Redeemer Church in Love Park. He was a believer, he loved Jesus and God. Brent was full of light. Brent’s life was too short with us on earth. This is only goodbye for now; we can see him again if we believe in Jesus.
Survivors include his parents Junior Price and Catherine (Art) Ellsworth; sister Amanda McCormick and her children Morgan, Thomas, and Emily Schmidt; brother Stephen McCormick; grandma Maryann (Roger) Phillips; aunts Ann McCormick and Terri Collins; cousins Michael McCormick, Cherri (Toon) McCormick, Jamie (Mark Hockison) Phillips, and Bryan Collins; 2 nd cousins Austin and Samantha Adams, Aiden, Evan, Mikayla, and Wynnie Collins, and Riley Flaningam. He is predeceased by his grandfather George Price; uncles Mike McCormick and Dan Collins; aunt Sheila Hammel; and cousin Samantha McCormick.
A Memorial Service will be at 10 am, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102 with a Celebration of Life and luncheon from 12 pm to 3 pm at the American Legion at 900 W. Chrysler Dr., Belvidere, IL 61008.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
