Brenda L. Bullock, 68, of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1957, in Rockford, the daughter of Leathel and Marcella (Burns) Ingram, Sr.
Brenda graduated from Guilford High School in 1975 and married the love of her life, Ernest E. "Gene" Bullock, on August 26, 1978, at Sinnissippi Gardens. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at Rosewood Care Centre, where she was known for her dedication and kindness.
Brenda had a true green thumb and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. Her home was always filled with thriving plants, a reflection of the care she gave to everything and everyone around her. She loved animals—especially her beloved fur babies, Lucy, Cooper, Willow, and Arya. Brenda also enjoyed traveling with Gene to many of our beautiful National Parks, including Yellowstone and others across the country. In her free time, she loved doing puzzles and crocheting when she was younger.
Family was always Brenda's greatest joy. Known affectionately as "Nana" to all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gene; sons, Eric and Jimmy Bullock; grandson, Brayden Bullock; siblings, Linda Adair and Leathel (Tina) Ingram, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) Bullock; and sisters-in-law, Jan (Mark) King and Ronda Bullock.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Barbery Carey and Ladonna Erickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held in 2026 when the weather is warmer, honoring Brenda's wish to avoid the cold.
