Bill Hogue

December 31, 1969 — November 22, 2021

Bill Hogue Jr., 64, of Loves Park IL. passed away in his home Monday November 22 nd , 2021. Bill was born in Chicago on May 19 th , 1957 to Bill and Jean Hogue. He attended Elgin High School where he pursued his love of baseball. That was until he was told he would have to cut his hair, thus ending his baseball career. After leaving school, Bill met and married his first wife Pam and they had three children: Billy, Holly, and Jen. Bill worked for ten years with his father and brother selling, installing, and servicing car washes at Hogue Industrial Service. During this time is when he earned his nick-name “Mr. Fix-It”. He later became a maintenance electrician at Elco Ind. in Rockford. It was while working there that he met and married his wife, Phyllis. For several years Bill enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife every chance they could. He had a passion for music and a remarkable memory for music history and trivia. Most weekends were spent playing pinochle with his wife and parents. When he wasn't playing cards or riding his motorcycle, he took much pride in the maintenance of his pristine pool and manicured lawn. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and was always available to help when needed. He lived by his motto, “You called me, so something must be broke.” Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis Hogue (Sandstrom); his parents Bill Hogue Sr. and Jean Hogue (Magie); brother Jim Hogue (Jill), brother Scott Hogue, sister Kelly Kavanagh (Vince); his children Bill Hogue III, Holly Malik (Eric), Jennifer Ocampo (Jose), Amanda Hammerlund (Jeff), and Christine Zimmerman; his grandchildren Corvin Borrego and Zoey Malik; and his fur-baby Chloe. In lieu of a memorial service, there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61111.
