Betty Pett

July 17, 1933 — March 21, 2024

Betty Nelson Lindstrom Pett, 90, of Rockford, passed away on March 22, 2024, in her daughter’s home surrounded by family. Born July 17, 1933, in Rockford; the daughter of George Nelson and Ruth Pucket. Betty worked for Sunstrand for 30 years in the blueprinting department. She enjoyed visiting casinos and playing poker, she also enjoyed playing pull tabs. She travelled extensively including Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska. Betty was a kind soul. Once you met her you were her friend. She had a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to everyone who knew her. She held no prejudice or judgment against anyone. She will be missed by many and greeted in heaven by those who went before her, especially her son John, who took care of her his entire life.

Betty is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Jim Forney) Bellone and Susan (Anthony Gipson) McNeely; daughter-in-law Debbie Lindstrom; grandchildren Amy Bellone, Matthew Bellone, Leonard McNeely, Jr., Kylena McNeely, Michael (Alicia Kopplin) Lindstrom, and Erik Lindstrom; great-grandchildren Leonard III, Skai, Louis, Rylee, Addison, and Lillian; and a host of great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents George Nelson and Ruth Heden; husbands Ronald Lindstrom and Richard Pett; son John Lindstrom; special aunts Evelyn Puckett, and Barbara Puckett Mount; best friend Sarah Hill; and longtime companion Allen Groleau.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty’s granddaughter Amy, who moved in with grandma and lovingly cared for her and stayed at her bedside 24/7 during her last week of life. Another heartfelt thank you goes to Heartland Hospice, Lindsey, Margarita, Deb, and others. We couldn’t have navigated through this without you.
