Betty L. Parks went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2025. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed. She was born on October 2, 1940, to Raymond and Leona Burgess in Truman, AR. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a friend. She married Jack Parks in 1957 and had three beautiful children Michael Parks, Garland Parks, and Kathy Anderson. In 1973 she obtained her cosmetology license and began her journey as a hairdresser. From 1973 to 1998 she worked at Joann's Beauty Shop. She then worked at Heart's Desire from 1998 to 2011, when she finally retired at age 70. She was a member of Rockford United General Baptist Church and later in life also attended Maywood Free Church, going to both services every Sunday. She had a huge church family at both and was loved by so many. To know Betty, was to love Betty. She led her life in the spirit of Christ, always wanting to be there for anyone that needed her. She loved fellowship and bible study. She loved visiting her friends, reading, cooking, shopping, cracking pecans, making peanut brittle with the church, and especially loved lunch dates with some of her close friends Adeline Quick and Kenny and Loretta Turner.
Betty is survived by her sons Michael (Doris) Parks, and Garland Parks, her brothers Bill Burgess (Donine), Donald (Diane) Burgess, Jerry Burgess, Ronnie Burgess, and Donnie (Judy) Burgess, her grandchildren Lindsey (Robb) Chamberlin, Ashley (Mike) Davis, Cody Womack Nicolas (Laura) Anderson, Jenna (Ben) Anderson, and Jade (Eli) Scantlen, her great grandchildren, Colton and Coby Parks, Lexi Davis, Haley and Sophie Anderson, Easton and Maddox Chamberlin, Allisyn Womack, one great grandson on the way, Maverick Dobson, and numerous nieces and nephews all of which she loved dearly.
