Betty Means

Betty Jo Means, 87, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Riverbluff Nursing Home on Friday, March 10, 2023. Betty Jo was born on March 6, 1939, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Marian Dary. She worked several jobs in the area as a secretary, but spent the majority of her career at National Lock for 20 years.  Betty Jo loved the beauty of the Oregon coast. She also loved playing bingo whenever she had the chance. Betty Jo had a special love for cats. Betty Jo is survived by her daughter, Dana (Matthew) Russell; grandchildren, Zachery (Haley Zimmerman) Braconier and Ashlei (Tony) Siracusa, and great-grandson Leo Siracusa.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Erickson; aunts, Rosa Marks and Margaret Messer; grandmother, Eva Blood. Per Betty Jo’s wishes, no services will be held. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61111.
