Barbara Colleen Harvey, 93, Heritage Woods in Belvidere, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born on December 11, 1930, to Orville and Velma (Sullivan) Rankin. She graduated from Rockford East High School in 1948. Barbara married John Richard “Jack” Harvey at First Presbyterian Church in Rockford on March 8, 1957. They were married for 61 years before he passed away January 25, 2019.
Barb worked at Norton Health Supplies for 25 years before retiring. Barb and Jack enjoyed square dancing, going to plays, trying different restaurants, and being active at their church. After retirement, Barb and Jack split their time living between Rockford and Pine Island, Florida.
Barbara is survived by her children Tom (Becky Nicholson) Harvey, Diane (Jeff) Hassen, Donna (Sonny) McCallips, and Linda Boos; by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren (and counting), and 2 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Janet (Bob) Dean and several nieces and nephews. Barbara is predeceased by both parents, husband, Jack, son-in-law Tim Boos and grandson, Jeremy McCallips.
