Arthur Quist

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Athur G. Quist, 80, of Rockford, passed away on November 1, 2021, in Rockford.  Art was born in Kirkland IL to Roland and Ida Quist on October 19, 1941. He went to school in Kirkland. He married Irene February 17, 1968, in Rockford. They had a loving 53-year marriage. He worked as an auto mechanic for Goodyear Tire for 40 plus years. He was a veteran and served in the Army. He was a cartographer and loved flying in helicopters. He got to travel to Africa and Ethiopia during his time in the Army. He was a simple man, but what he did he did well. He really enjoyed collecting marbles and going to marble shows. He loved sports and going to Estate Sales. Art was an avid outdoorsman. He really enjoyed his garden. He spent many years at his parents Greenhouse on 4th Street. Art is preceded in death by his Parents Roland and Ida Quist. His Daughter Victoria Quist. He is survived by Irene, his Children Anne, Garrett (Cyndi), Jeff (Andrea); Art had 6 grandchildren, Brittany, Andrew, Alex, Ava, Ceclia, Eli; 3 Great Grand Children, Elianna, Mariah, Christian; and his sister Nancy (Jerry) Wickson. Memorial Service will be 1 pm, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Brooke Rd. United Methodist Church, 1404 Brooke Rd.
