Allan Duane Mathieu

Allan D. Mathieu, 84, of Rockton, passed away on December 17, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 28, 1941, in Rockford, IL, the son of William “Joe” and Lola (Glazier) Mathieu.

Allan graduated from Harlem High School in 1959 and married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marie Peterson, on July 22, 1960. A lifelong farmer, Allan raised Jersey cows and took great pride in his work. He was deeply committed to serving his community, working for the Rockford Fire Department for 28 years. Allan also served as a supervisor for Harrison Township and was actively involved with the Winnebago County Township Officials. He was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Roscoe.

Survivors include his wife Marie; sons Warren (Vicki) Mathieu, Phil (Theresa) Mathieu, and Owen (Wendy) Mathieu; grandchildren Amanda, Frank, Torri, Wesley, Danielle, Kelsey, Jordan, Natalie, Reilly, and Clay; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Dave (Ruby) Mathieu; sister Carol (Steve) Fassl; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; sisters Rosie McClanahan and Louise Bridges; and brother Bill Mathieu.
