Allan Borum

Allan Borum, of Rockford, passed away on June 5, 2023. Born on January 1, 1952, to James and Daisy Borum of Chicago, IL. Allan was the third of nine children. Preceded in death by both parents and brother Bruce Borum. Allan leaves to cherish his memories, his son Derek (Tuere) Borum of Rockford; daughter Serena Borum of Rockford; siblings Bernice King of Tuskegee, AL, Georgie (Mike) Clark of Tucson, AZ, Randy (DeeDee) Borum of Chicago, IL, Sandy Borum of Chicago, IL, Theresa (Richard) Nik of Alsip, IL, James (Carmen) Borum, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Valerie Borum of Toronto, Canada; sister-in-law Diane Borum of Calumet Park, IL; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends.  Allan graduated from Northern Illinois University on a full All-State football scholarship. He was also on the Chicago Bears practice squad in the mid 1970’s before moving to Rockford. Allan had numerous jobs where he earned the respect of employers and coworkers. Allan had a deep desire to learn about God and had a deep appreciation for spiritual truth. He became an ardent student of the Bible and was baptized August 2, 2020, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Having such a deep love for his heavenly father, Jehovah, he shared his belief with all he could even within days of his passing. He truly touched the lives of many by his faith and example to serve God, Jehovah. He will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3645 W. Riverside Blvd, Rockford, IL, 61101.
