Albert Swanson

Albert “Bill” W. Swanson, Jr., 73, of Mercer, WI, passed away at his son’s home on October 28, 2023. Born September 24, 1950, in Chicago, IL; the son of Albert W. Sr. and Charlotte (Cronin) Swanson. Bill graduated from Gordon Tech High School in Chicago in 1968. After high school, Bill worked for Schlitz Brewing Company where he managed sales and delivery of product all around the Chicago area. He went on to be a supervisor at AM Castle Metals, Co. in Franklin Park until he retired. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed Indy car races very much. When his children were younger, he enjoyed taking them fishing and vacationing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin where he always dreamed of living out his golden years. He not only accomplished this life-long dream, but also found a second family in Mercer, WI. He was a board member of the Dusty Loons ATV Club, volunteered as a trail groomer, and took pride in donating and advocating for numerous local fundraisers, such as the Mercer Suicide Awareness Fund and Wounded Warriors Project. Bill is survived by his children Shawn, Adam, and Megan Swanson; brother Marty (Donna) Swanson; and sister Mary (Aaron) Linas. He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Charlotte.
