Adrian “Ace” J. Erickson, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a long battle with colon cancer on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Amberwood Care Centre. Adrian was born on August 22, 1941, to Jenney and John Erickson in Audobon, Minnesota, where he spent most of his early life. With his roots to Minnesota, he became an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, through thick and thin. After school, he served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He went on to spend 43 years employed with Barber Coleman/Gleason, which brought him the love of his life, Rita Tosh. They married on September 13, 1962. Throughout the years, he also was a bartender at Red Coach. After retirement, Adrian took a special interest in landscaping, both for himself and his neighbors. He and his neighborhood friends were a tight knit community, mutually taking care of each other throughout the years. He was outgoing and social, and truly had a special bond with his neighborhood friends. He also enjoyed long walks around Rock Cut Park. He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Terry (Dawn) Erickson, Kimberly (Ron) Salmeri, and Mitchell (Lisa) Baclettt; grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Erickson, Brandon Erickson, Ryan Erickson, Kateland Erickson, Alexander Edmundson, Sophia Medvig (Michael Duffy), and Kato Medvig; siblings, Avery Erickson, John Erickson Jr., and Louise Martell; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley, Darlene, and Charolette, and brother, Harold. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ruth, the careteam, and the staff at Amberwood, as well as Unity Hospice. The family would also like to thank neighbors, Chris Wetter and Travis McCaffrey, for all of their support and fellowship throughout the years. A Celebration of Life for Adrian will be announced at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
